Mother Theresa Institute of Engineering and Technology, was established in the year 2010 with the objective of empowering the rural youth for whom engineering education was not attainable easily. The Institute is promoted by a non-profitable organization, ‘Holy Cross Educational Society, Palamaner.’ The inception of MTIET has been based on the commitment to impart holistic technical education to the rural and under privileged sections of the society.
MTIET is one of the seven institutions of excellence established by the Holy Cross Educational Society, Palamaner to provide education from school to degree to the educationally backward western mandals of Chittoor District. It is located beside the Chennai - Bombay National Highway 5 km from Palamaner, in a serene, lush-green and picturesque landscape surrounded by paddy fields and mango orchards and tanks. MTIET has been proving its excellence in Engineering Education every since the inception. Committed to its mission and vision, the institute has been relentlessly working on grooming the rural youth in engineering education.
With a humble beginning, the institute has been growing and forging ahead both qualitatively and quantitatively with visionaries behind it.

I feel it’s a social obligation to make society happy, rich, content, flourish, harmonize and it can be achieved through proper education. It should be accessible to the rural youth. This institute has not been established just to make students obtain degrees alone. Its motto is to help the students get holistic education. Being an engineer, I can understand what engineering education is and how it can be. You are welcome to study here and become a better professional.
I am happy to note that India is recognized as one of the fastest growing economies in the world. This is my perception of our country. Our immense pool of knowledge workers, a vast population of young and energetic professionals and a large vibrant domestic technology powered by global vision provide us a tremendous platform for it. We, in the remote area, contribute our mite to the country by imparting education to the rural youth. The more students come here to better their studies, the more meaningful my life will be.
This institute ensures proper training in engineering applications and to incorporate human values so as to produce engineering professionals who can meet the demands of engineering sector. As an academic advisor I oversee how the system of teaching and learning is going on. Our college stands for imparting quality education and that is the reason why our students have been performing exceedingly well in their professions. Before we send them from our college, we see that they would get integrated personality that would assist them to pursue a career of their choice. Here education is an amalgamation of knowledge, wisdom and human values. I welcome those students who compete with themselves. Their today has to compete with their yesterday and their tomorrow has to compete with their today.
Being the Principal of MTIET, it is my bounden duty to see that no student should miss anything useful for his or her career. Individual care is taken here. We make the students learn more by inculcating learning attitude. We follow interactive method in teaching. We focus on the content, but we don’t miss the concept of it. Because of the communicative approach in the classes, teaching is a dynamic activity here. Stereotype teaching is not found in our classes, students have freedom to get their doubts clarified. Besides, we arrange faculty development programmes and orientation programmes with eminent professors from universities. From my point of view, teaching can always be updated. MTIET takes care of placements of the students as well. Almost all the students are placed before they complete their courses and leave college. I invite the students who want to change their course of life and better themselves.
